Toss: Sri Lanka chose to bat v Bangladesh
Live scorecard and ball-by-ball details
Sri Lanka have chosen to bat first in the final against Bangladesh in Mirpur. This will be the first occasion on which they bat first in the tournament.
Having lost the last match of the league stage by 10 wickets, Bangladesh have made three changes to their XI. Opener Anamul Haque and allrounders Nasir Hossain and Abul Hasan have made way. In their place come batsman Mohammad Mithun – who will probably open the batting – seam-bowling allrounder Mohammad Saifuddin, and offspinner Mehidy Hasan.
The most surprising change, however, was Sri Lanka’s. In place of wristspinner Lakshan Sandakan – who took two wickets on Thursday – the visitors have brought in fast bowler Shehan Madushanka, who has played only three first-class games and three List A matches as a senior cricketer. The 22-year-old had been hand-picked by Chandika Hathurusingha, on account of his pace.
The weather is expected to remain good for the duration of the match.
