Toss India chose to bowl v Sri Lanka
Live scorecard and ball-by-ball details
The coin fell in Rohit Sharma’s favour – as if it were jealous of all the records that had fallen at his feet a few days ago – and India opted to chase in the deciding ODI in Visakhapatnam. On a pitch that was quite hard, with a gentle sprinkling of grass to hold it together, batting was expected to be straightforward. But the possibility of dew in the evening swayed Rohit’s mind.
India are defending a proud record at home. This is their 16th bilateral series, across formats, since October 2015 and they have lost only one. They made one change: left-arm wristspinner Kuldeep Yadav came back into the XI, with offspinner Washington Sundar out sick.
Sri Lanka, searching for their first series win in India, made one change with Sadeera Samarawickrama taking the place of Lahiru Thirimanne.
